Ioanna was born on 31st January 1992 in London England by Greek Cypriot parents. Ioanna had a huge passion for the performing arts and took part in extra curricular activities such as drama productions and musicals in both her mainstream English school (Queen Elizabeth girl’s school) and her Greek school (Manor hill).
In 2007 Ioanna was a finalist in the BBC London student award in the category of music by composing and performing her own song called ‘London town’.
Her road to fulfilling her dream as a Performer started when she was only 16 years old and was chosen from 17,000 hopefuls auditioning for a place in the Greek talent show ‘X factor 2008’, hosted by the well known and most successful male singer of Greece; ‘Sakis Rouvas’ which was live every week on TV ‘Antenna.’
Ioanna was representing the girls category ages 16 to 24 and was able to showcase her talent and power as a performer on stage. Each week on the live show Ioanna performed a huge variety of songs, from soul/country to Greek and English pop. Ioanna survived in the show until the semifinals, as the only girl left representing her category for 9 weeks. Ioanna won over the people with her true character and down to earth personality and charisma. The spirit that distinguishes Greeks all over the world was the main force behind the willpower and determination of Ioanna to make all the Greeks proud and The ‘X factor;’ gave Ioanna this opportunity to have recognition both in Greece, Cyprus and the UK. Ioanna is now focusing on the next steps of the beginning of her career and it is sure that a bright future awaits her.
